Our Vision and Mission

Hull-Jackson Montessori Magnet School
                             Our Vision
" To liberate the child we must reform the environment and the world.  This is a necessity if we are to have life at its highest development.  A fine work of research and observation is required in order to give that which is necessary to the development of life."

Our Mission is to advance each student's development through an individualized Montessori Education.

The vision of Hull-Jackson Montessori is translated to the student body and staff through ongoing student meetings and staff development.  The staff participates in regular Montessori learning activities and seminars. During these seminars, the teachers and support professionals share an understanding of the Montessori philosophy through graduate level learning activities.

As powerful as the methods used in all Montessori schools is the existence of the philosophy and beliefs of our namesakes, Mr. John Hull and Mr. Oscar R. Jackson, who served at Pearl High School and Cameron High School respectively.  These men saw the need for bringing leadership to a heightened level of excellence for all children regardless of their socioeconomic background.  Although neither Mr. Hull nor Mr. Jackson is living today, their legacies live forever in the hearts and minds of the students they touched.

The strong leadership and vision of both of these leaders gives meaning to our school's motto:  "Excellence...by time, precept, and example."  This motto emphasizes the responsibility that each student has to emulate excellence in education by a commitment to life-long learning, in principle, and in practice, in order to positively improve his environment through intellect, civility, and service to others. The official school colors and the students' wearing apparel reflect a combination of colors from the two historical high schools lead by Mr. Hull and Mr. Jackson.  The color of navy blue represents Cameron High Schoool, while the color of white represents Pearl High School.
