Suzuki Orchestra Mrs.Kay Camp is the directress of the Suzuki Orchestra. She is trained in the Suzuki method of music education. Having taught this program in our school system for many years, Mrs. Camp is very dedicated to offering this program to as many students as possible. The Hull-Jackson Orchestra performs for many events throughout the Metro-Nashville. This program is offered to students beginning in kindergarten and continuing through fourth grade. It does require a commitment from the parents or guardians to encourage students to practice their instrument at home on a regular basis to truly benefit from lessons at school. Mrs.Camp tries to furnish instruments for those students who cannot afford to buy or rent them. Students are placed in the program each year as spaces become available.
Music and Choir Mrs.Kathy Hull is our Music and Choir directress. Students at Hull-Jackson begin a music curriculum in Kindergarten and continue this program through fourth grade which follows the state, MNPS, and NCLB standards. 4th grade students will present a musical this year and kindergarten students will perform in May. Music and movement are meshed together for a true fun learning experience for all our students.
The elementary students have the opportunity to audition for a performance choir which rehearses during school on Thursday mornings under the direction of Mrs. Hull. These students perform not only for the school and parents but for functions throughout the Metro-Nashville area. This is a wonderful opportunity for students who love to sing. |
