The name of Hull-Jackson has a unique history. As powerful as the methods used in all Montessori schools is the existence of the philosophy and beliefs of our namesakes, Mr. John Hull and Mr. Oscar R. Jackson, who served at Pearl High School and Cameron High School respectively. These men saw the need for bringing leadership to a heightened level of excellence and are still remembered for producing schools of excellence for all children regardless of their socioeconomic background. Although neither Mr. Hull nor Mr. Jackson is living today, their legacies live forever in the hearts and minds of the students they touched.
The strong leadership and vision of both of these leaders gives meaning to our school's motto: "Excellence...by time, precept, and example." This motto emphasizes the responsibility that each student has to emulate excellence in education by a commitment to life-long learning, civility, and service to others. The official school colors and the students' wearing apparel reflect a combination of the colors from the two historical high schools led by Mr. Hull and Mr. Jackson. The color of navy blue represents Cameron High School, while the color of white represents Pearl High School.
